Thinkers my work is based on

Formal training lineage

Catharsis in Regression Hypnotherapy — Randal Churchill Churchill founded the Hypnotherapy Training Institute — the actual training lineage behind the Clinical Hypnotherapist, Master Hypnotist, and Regression Specialist credentials. The book argues against the common instinct in regression therapy to avoid or manage around strong emotion, and instead treats working through intense emotional release, when it arises, as an opening for deeper and more complete change. This is close to direct source material for how SST works with the body in session.

Expand for my booklist!

The Body Keeps the Score — Bessel van der Kolk The foundational case that trauma is held in the body and nervous system, not just narrated in the mind — the clinical backbone for why talk alone has a ceiling, and why SST works to reach the nervous system directly.

Healing the Shame That Binds You — John Bradshaw The anatomy of toxic shame: how it moves from “I made a mistake” to “I am a mistake,” and how it travels through families rather than staying with one person.

Homecoming — John Bradshaw Reclaiming and reparenting the inner child at each developmental stage — the direct source of the baby-self and toddler-self inner-child work already used in session.

The Emotionally Immature Parent — Lindsay Gibson How children adapt to emotionally unavailable parents — over-functioning, role reversal, hyper-attunement to a parent’s moods. Close to the clinical backbone of the hyper-responsible woman pattern.

Arousal: The Secret Logic of Sexual Fantasies — Michael Bader Desire and sexual fantasy as psychologically protective rather than simply behavioural — useful for working with desire-suppression and sexual shame as defended terrain, not dysfunction to correct.
